Short-term Educational Programs in Tourism
 
AQS Cyprus is the contractor of the project "Organization and Implementation of short-term educational programs in tourism" for the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Cyprus.
In this context, it offers, at no cost to the participants, a series of seminars oriented to Tourism:
01. Health and Safety at Work
02. Quality Services for Tourists from hotels, tourist and self-catering accommodation (αir bnb)
03. Training REPS tourism officials to provide correct information to visitors
04. Training of employees at various attractions / points of interest, such as safari tour providers, employees at archaeological sites, museums, etc., to provide correct information
05. Training of employees of Z vehicle rental offices
06. Training of drivers of Public Transport (buses and taxis)
07. Acquaintance of employees who encounter visitors, with touristic Cyprus to provide correct information
08. Reduction of food waste from food service and catering industry
09. Allergenic Foods
10. Wine training and wine serving (incl. wine tasting)
11. Training workers in wineries and other crafts to provide authentic experiences
12. Cocktail preparation with Cypriot wines / products
13. Utilization of modern technology (e.g. digital receptions, smart check-in, voice activated appliances)
14. Utilization of social media to increase sales for small tourism businesses
15. Servicing the disabled and elderly by tourism businesses
16. Green growth (sustainability) and circular economy
17. Modern visitor needs and profiles by market
18. Proper Management of Small Business Reservation Systems
19. Upgrading spa services of hotels and tourist accommodations
20. Best practices for the cleaning and disinfection of rooms
21. Supervision of Housekeepers in the field of hospitality
22. Utilization of local products by hotels and restaurants
23. Menus and recipes for people with special dietary requirements (e.g. vegan, gluten free, etc.)

25. Cooking and Pastry with an emphasis on Cypriot cuisine (urban)
26. The role of Human Resources in the organization, operation and management of a Hotel Business

30. Training of the local self-government for tourism, after the reform, with the aim of raising awareness in matters of upgrading tourist products and services
31. Intensive Greek language courses (A1 level, Elementary knowledge) for the touristic industry needs - On-line
32. Intensive Greek language courses (A2 level, Basic knowledge) for the touristic industry needs - On-line
 
These programs address the following target audience:
  • Executives / self-employed / workers in hotels and tourist accommodation, including self-catering accommodation and traditional buildings
  • Executives / workers in catering and leisure centers
  • Workers in the transport sector such as airports, ports, car and motorbike rental offices, bus and taxi drivers
  • Workers in visitable production units, such as wineries, cheese factories, olive mills, apiaries, etc.
  • Workers in archaeological sites, museums, churches, diving and cycling centers, event venues, etc.
  • Unemployed people who wish to be active in professions directly or indirectly related to tourism
  • Students and pupils over 16 years of age who wish to be active in professions directly or indirectly related to tourism
  • Local government agencies
  • Tour guides
  • Foreign language staff or interested parties who wish to be active in professions directly or indirectly related to tourism (for Greek courses)

Note:
Available places for each seminar are strictly up to 25 participants.
A certificate of participation will be awarded to all participants.
For the specific training program, no stipends are provided by the ANAD.
 
*Training classes will take place in the Greek language. Depending on the participants there will be simultaneous translation of the presentation in the English language. 
These seminars address citizens of the Republic of Cyprus or citizens of any other country who reside legally in Cyprus.
